It has very sketchy and beta support for enabling the Rift. Why do you think Dying Light and playing it in VR isn't a"thing"? Because it's not a thing.

I'm not talking about lack of motion controllers. Same way as Alien Isolation lol, just nooooooooooooo. go to steam->library->dying light->properties->uncheck 'Use Desktop Game Theatre while SteamVR is active' go to (Your Documents Folder)\DyingLight\out\settings\video.scr open video.scr with your favorite text editor add 'OculusEnabled ()' in the file (without the '') start SteamVR make sure ReVive. I mean you can enable the headset but that's about it.įact. There is no actual Oculus Rift support for Dying Light.
Dying light vr disable head tracking mod#
Many of you who mod Skyrim may have already come. It's not a finished product we can argue about being good or not. Background What Is Positional Tracking (6DoF) Most mobile VR headsets like Oculus Go, Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream View only have rotational tracking (3DoF). We have the privilege of speaking with Canliberk, the curator of our most successful and popular collection.

How can you even argue this is beyond me. Light shafts are fucked, FoV is off, UI is off 's all fucked up. You are able to use the Rift, but it's not polished, ready or anything of the sort. Man, there is nothing "VR support" about it. Motion controls would be nice, but even with a controller it would be a must have in VR I reckon. If they ever add better VR support a la Subnautica I will be all over it. If you're happy with those negatives then I would imagine it's an incredible VR game. I didn't persevere because honestly, I have a LOT of games I want to play and it wasn't worth all the hassle to play Dying Light in a sub-standard VR experience. If you get through the initial start of the game, it's probably better as there are less cutscenes. The game regularly takes camera control away from the player during in-game cutscenes (at least at the start). If you want to play seated, you have to run Oculus setup everytime otherwise you're going to have your head at crotch height in game. You have to be dead centre in your play space or the camera doesn't move 1:1 with your view. Menus stuck to your face, so are cinematic cutscenes. It looks absolutely fantastic in VR, that has to be said, but I have pretty good VR legs and it made me feel very, very sick after just 10 minutes. I was really excited about it, but felt pretty underwhelmed.
